About Us
Vishvakannada Foundation
Vishvakannada Foundation is a Section-8 company dedicated to empowering young minds
in Karnataka through technology education in their mother tongue. We believe that
every child deserves access to quality computer programming education, regardless of
the medium of instruction in their school.
Our foundation bridges the digital divide by making computer programming accessible
and engaging for primary and higher primary students studying in Kannada medium
schools. By teaching programming in Kannada, we remove language barriers that often
prevent rural and semi-urban students from exploring the world of technology and
computational thinking.
We use specially adapted Kannada versions of globally recognized programming
platforms—Scratch and LOGO—to introduce children to the fundamental concepts of
coding, logical thinking, and problem-solving. Our approach ensures that students
can learn and express their creativity in the language they are most comfortable
with, building confidence alongside technical skills.
Through our programs, we are nurturing the next generation of innovators, thinkers,
and technology creators from Karnataka’s Kannada-speaking communities, ensuring that
language is never a barrier to learning in the digital age.
Vision
To create a future where every Kannada medium student in Karnataka has equal access
to world-class computer programming education in their mother tongue, enabling them
to become confident creators and innovators in the digital world.
We envision a Karnataka where children from all backgrounds—urban, rural, and semi-
urban—can dream of careers in technology and have the foundational skills to pursue
those dreams, starting from their primary education itself.
Mission
Our mission is to democratize computer programming education for Kannada medium
students by:
Making Technology Education Accessible: Providing high-quality programming
instruction in Kannada to primary and higher primary students, ensuring language is
never a barrier to learning.
Building Foundational Skills: Using age-appropriate tools like Kannada Scratch and
Kannada LOGO to develop computational thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-
solving abilities from an early age.
Bridging the Digital Divide: Reaching students in Kannada medium schools across
Karnataka, particularly in underserved areas, to create equal opportunities in
technology education.
Fostering Creativity and Confidence: Empowering children to express their ideas
through code in their own language, building both technical competence and self-
confidence.
Creating Future-Ready Learners: Equipping students with skills that will serve them
throughout their academic journey and prepare them for the technology-driven future.
